Recommended Equipment for home / school

Gym Ball / Peanut Ball

Gym Ball / Peanut Ball

Gym Ball / Peanut Ball

Great piece of kit that can be used in so many ways and as part of a sensory movement regulation programme as well as for seating for table top activities.

Body Sock

These are great to provide lots of sensory feedback.  This can have a calming effect on our central nervous system, and providing comfort and security.

Sloping Board

'Write from the start' handwriting programme

Bean Bag Slab

Really great if you have pain in your upper limbs when handwriting. To save money you can also use a double A4 Ring binder.

Dark Tent

This works great as a safe place to go if needed. You can also use everyday items from school and home to make a 'den' which offers similar qualities. It is meant to be dark and 'boring' to provide a safe and calm place. People tend to put weighted blankets, comforters, light up sensory toys in there to provide extra calm and regulation.

This handwriting programme is developed by an Occupational Therapist (so you know it will be great). I have some of my contracted schools using this with their primary pupils with great success.
