Our approach and values

We are a friendly and reliable local children’s and adults occupational therapy service offering a bespoke and personalised approach within and around Leeds. We are non-judgemental, flexible, and transparent.

If you have any concerns and are unsure if your child needs therapy please feel free to contact us and we can discuss these concerns. If you do not want to wait for NHS assessment / intervention we are able to provide a considerably faster and personalised service to meet your child’s needs.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Any incident in which an employee is abused, threatened, or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work is unacceptable and not tolerated. You will be refused assessment and intervention.

Butterflies Holistic Occupational Therapy considers threatening behaviour to be: Attempted or actual aggressive, threatening, or physical actions made towards any member of staff.

Consent to Treatment

During the initial assessment we will require written consent to be completed. You can withdraw consent at any time. To do so you will need to inform us in writing.

SOLO working

We are unable to work in the studio with a young person without a family member / carer either being in the room, sat in our reception space or in the carpark behind the studio. This is if there is an emergency and the young person needs instant care and assistance from family / carer.

Consent to how we use your personnel data

During the initial assessment you will be asked to provide your consent preferences linked to how we can use your personal data. If you wish to change these at any time please inform us in writing.

Upon request, during the initial assessment you will be provided with a hard copy of our privacy policy for your records.

If you want to film us completing either the assessment and / or intervention you must gain WRITTEN consent and permission from the therapist you are wanting to film.

Cancellation Policy

Assessments – 50% of the total cost of the assessment will be returned only if assessments are cancelled less than 2 weeks before the assessment date. Out of this time full assessment cost will be returned.

1:1 Therapy - Cancellation must be given at least with 48 hours’ notice for any appointments. If you fail to attend or give less than 48 hours’ notice you will be charged for the cost of the full session.

1:1 Therapy – If purchasing a block of 6 sessions, 1x session can be cancelled within 24hours and not occur a loss of 1 session. No more than 1 session will be postponed if cancelled within this time period per block.

Process of assessment

• Following your enquiry a member of Butterflies Holistic Occupational Therapy will contact you to discuss your requirements- this is a free 15-minute consultation,

• Once your requirements are confirmed she will then send Butterflies Holistic Occupational Therapy Terms and Conditions and Fee’s, 

• Read the Terms and Conditions and sign, then return the completed form,

• Fees are paid within 5 days of making the booking, otherwise the booking is cancelled,

• You will be sent pre-assessment questionnaires, and standardised and non-standardised assessments to be completed prior to the face-to-face assessment,

• Assessments are completed / School visit arranged by Butterflies Holistic Occupational Therapy (if this is a requirement),

• The therapist completing the assessment will interpret and score up all the data,

• Full Comprehensive report is written and sent to you with 6-8 weeks,

• Once you have read the report we can arrange a 30-minute telephone / Online platform consultation to discuss.

Payment

Services required and cost of services will be agreed between Butterflies Holistic occupational therapy and families prior to being completed.

Costs are based on the time the therapist has with the child / time taken to complete work. 

Cost are reviewed on a regular basis based on increasing costs across the board. 

If you are from a Local Authority before anything is booked we will require:

• Systems of payment in place – I.e., how to acquire any purchase order numbers, a finance contact number, length of time for payment to be made and any dates the payment needs to be made to receive a swift payment.

Assessments - All assessments will be paid in FULL within 5 days of booking the appointment. If this is not completed the booking will be cancelled.
